Beniak, Boyd are 10K winners

Travis Beniak of Mazeppa won Saturday’s Goodhue Pioneer Trail Run 10K in 35 minutes, 11 seconds.

The race was part of the annual Covered Bridge celebration. Jared Anderson of Zumbrota was second in 40:43 and Marie Boyd of Rochester was the female winner and third overall in 40:44.

Get Your Rear in Gear

The second annual Rochester Get Your Rear in Gear 5K Run/Walk is Saturday at the Mayo Civic Center.

A kids dash starts at 8:30 a.m., the 5K run at 9 and the 5K walk at 9:05.

The run/walk is an official Rochesterfest event.

Funds raised will go to support local initiatives to fight colorectal cancer.

Fee is $25 until Wednesday and then it’s $30 . The kids dash is $12 until Wednesday and then $15.
