Berdella Lundy -- Wanamingo

WANAMINGO -- Services for Berdella Lundy were in Texas. No local service is planned.

Mrs. Lundy, 100, of Mineral Wells, Texas, formerly of Wanamingo, died Sunday (Aug. 8, 2004) in Mineral Wells.

Berdella Steberg was born Oct. 30, 1903, in Wanamingo, where she grew up. At age 26, she went to Australia. She married Bill Williams in 1928. He died in 1943. During the war, she sailed around the world five times as a stewardess and nurse. She returned to the United States in 1945 and for 14 years lived in New York where she operated an import shop. On April 21, 1965, she married Bernard Lundy. They lived in Spain for three years and later moved to Mineral Wells. Mr. Lundy preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn O. Dorschner of Zumbrota and Irene Blomberg of Rochester; and two brothers, Manton Steberg of Zumbrota and Vernon Steberg of Garrison, Mass. Six brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
