AUSTIN -- A private graveside service is planned at Grandview Cemetery for Bernell Nelson.
Mr. Nelson, 74, of Austin, died today (Oct. 18, 2004) at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Blooming Prairie.
He was born April 17, 1930, in Austin. In November 1950, he married Arlene Kirkwood, and they later divorced. On Jan. 2, 1985, he married Rosalee Barclay. She died July 12, 2004.
He retired from Hormel Foods Corp. after working there 30 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Wilson) Bollinger and Terry Tresslar (Fred) Cantrall, both of Austin, and Tina Tresslar (Kevin) Anderson of Maplewood, Minn.; a step-daughter, Cheryl (Earl) Alexander of Austin; eight grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (June) Nelson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and a sister, Jeanne Airington of Lafayette, Wash.
