Bette Lou Paulson — Rochester

ROCHESTER — A memorial service for Bette Lou Paulson will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes Chapel in Rochester.

Mrs. Paulson, 80, of Rochester, died Monday (Nov. 24, 2008) at her home.

Bette Lou Evjen, a twin, was born Oct. 24, 1928, in York, Minn. She attended York Elementary School and graduated from Rochester High School. On May 23, 1948, she married Elwood Paulson in Rochester. For many years, Mrs. Paulson worked as a manager on the third floor of Donaldsons Department Store. She also worked at Saint Marys Hospital and then Samaritan Bethany Heights, retiring at age 70 due to her health. She continued volunteering at Samaritan Bethany following her retirement.

She was a member of the Rochester Eagles Club Auxiliary and the Rochester American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed boating and camping. Her husband worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service; he survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Larry (Debbie) and Rick (Christie), both of Rochester; four grandchildren, Alana Moran, Brenna Paulson, and Matthew and Thomas Paulson; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Moran and Caedyn Paulson. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes. Her ashes will be placed in a columbarium in Oakwood Cemetery.
