Betty Marie Simon -- LeRoy

SPRING VALLEY -- The funeral for Betty Marie Simon will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy, with the Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Simon, 77, of Spring Valley, formerly of LeRoy, died Sunday (Feb. 13, 2005) at Ostrander Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Betty Marie Larson was born March 28, 1927, in Spring Valley. After her mother's death in 1937, she lived with her uncle, Paul Larson and family. In 1945, she graduated from Spring Valley High School. On Oct. 27, 1946, she married Donald M. Aide in Spring Valley. He died in January 1973. On May 10, 1978, she married Eugene F. Simon. They made their home on a farm north of Ostrander.

Survivors include her husband; a brother, Robert Larson of Rochester; a sister, Kathy Oeltjen of Detroit, Mich.; and a stepsister, Shirley (Jack) Riley of Rochester. Two sons, a brother and a stepsister preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.
