Beverly A. 'Babe' Peterson -- Austin

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Beverly A. "Babe" Peterson will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Roberta Flood officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.

Mrs. Peterson, 62, of Austin, a longtime Hormel Foods Corp. employee, died Monday (May 6, 2002) at her home.

Beverly A. Johnson was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Bagley, Minn., moved to Austin with her family as a child and graduated from Austin High School. She worked at Hormel from 1957 until the time of her death. On June 29, 1963, she married Ronald Peterson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. Mrs. Peterson was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and its choir, and enjoyed going to the races and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bradley (Annette) of Brownsdale and Timothy (Alexa Dolan) of Austin; a daughter, Cathrene Peterson of Austin; six grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Helen) Johnson of Austin; and a sister, Lois (Dan) McNally of Waukesha, Wis. An infant sister preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
