An article in the World news of the April 9 Post-Bulletin contained the eye-catching headline, "God particle expected soon."
Apparently physicists are starting experiments to further explore the mysteries of atoms and may be on the verge of discovering a long-theorized particle that may unify understanding of particle physics and, according to one scientist, help humans to "know the mind of God."
While the answers to issues in particle physics may be found in these experiments, they are completely irrelevant to knowing the mind of God. God has always been willing to share his mind with humans. In the Bible he has provided us with rich resources for exactly that task. We can hear his message for us faithfully preached throughout this community and we can open this book and study more of it on our own.
One of his promises in the Bible is that when we seek him he will meet us. And the transformative nature of that encounter has within it more power than any advance in science.
