The Hormel Nature Center and the Austin Audubon Society are sponsoring early-morning bird walks at the nature center beginning Tuesday.
The walks on Tuesday, Thursday and May 18, all begin at 6:30 a.m. People can meet in the nature center parking lot at 6:30 a.m. and join fellow birders for a hike on the trails. People can join the walk for as long as they like. The walks are expected to be about an hour and a half, organizers say.
It's prime migration period and an excellent time to see a variety of colorful birds, organizers say. The program is free and open to anyone interested in birding by sight or sound. Binoculars will be provided upon request. All ages are welcome.
