ORONO, Minn. -- Police were investigating an apparent drowning after a body was found in Lake Minnetonka on Friday afternoon.
The victim was a 23-year-old Wisconsin man who was apparently with friends at the time of his death on the west end of Lake Minnetonka's Big Island, the Hennepin County sheriff's office said.
The man's friends discovered his body and flagged down a passing boat, authorities said. The Hennepin County Water Patrol arrived at 12:20 p.m. and tried to administer CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
There were no immediate reports of foul play, but an autopsy will be conducted, the sheriff's office said.
