Austin police arrested a 14-year-old boy Friday night for allegedly threatening to kill his mother with a knife, the police chief said.
Officers responded about 10:25 p.m. to a southwest Austin home after the boy called police accusing his mother of threatening him, Police Chief Paul Philipp said on Tuesday.
Apparently, the mother and son had been in a verbal dispute that escalated into the boy grabbing a butcher’s knife and telling his mother, "I will kill you," Philipp said. Another woman witnessed the altercation.
The boy was placed in a juvenile-detention facility in Rochester.
