The 2009 Optimist Frozen Goose Run/Walk took place at the University Center Rochester this past Saturday as part of Rochester’s WinterFest.
There were 178 runners and walkers of all ages participating to raise awareness of Childhood Cancer and to raise funds for research at Mayo Clinic.
The winners in the timed 10 K run were:
WOMEN’S

1st place: Marie Boyd, 42.02 minutes; 2nd place: Sarah Poncelet, 46.58 minutes; 3rd place: Mary Swiggum, 47.14 minutes.
MEN’S
1st place: Matthew Kirke, 35.58 minutes; 2nd place: Carlos Sheldon, 36.43 minutes; 3rd place: David Kallmes, 36.55 minutes.
