Spring Grove’s bid for its first state boys basketball tournament appearance fell short Tuesday night as the Lions fell to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton 55-51 in the Section One, Class A tournament at Mayo Civic Center’s Taylor Arena.
The Lions, who finished 24-5 overall, drew within three points of JWP with 1:17 to play, but could get no closer.
Spring Grove played without starting sophomore point guard Dakota Rostad, who missed the game because of illness.
