Learn about the game of Quickball and meet Honkers baseball players Thursday during the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester’s inaugural Badges for Baseball & Quickball Extravaganza.
The event — from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miracle Field, Watson Sports Complex, which is near Essex Parkway and West River Road — will include free refreshments and other promotional activities.
Quickball is a new program funded through the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation to grow baseball programs from a grassroots level. Based on baseball and appropriate for all ages and skill levels, Quickball is a fast-paced game that is played inside a gymnasium or outside on a field.
The Boys & Girls Club is partnering with the Honkers, the Rochester Police Department, Rochester public schools, and Rochester Community and Technical College to support an introductory Quickball program.
