If the first two games are a good indication, scoring will not be a problem for Rochester Mayo this season.
Juniors Rick Weber and Tom Alexander notched hat tricks, and Jordan Yaggy made 10 saves in his first varsity start as the Spartans rolled to an 11-1 Big Nine Conference boys hockey victory over Mankato East at Graham Arena on Thursday.
"We are proud of our scoring, especially from so many different players," Mayo coach Lorne Grosso said.
Mayo rebounded nicely from a 7-4 season-opening loss to Roseville this past Saturday. Weber scored twice and Alex Whitney scored in the first period for a 3-1 Mayo lead.
