Foley’s hat trick leads JM/Lourdes past Mayo

Rochester John Marshall/Lourdes overcame an early-season injury bug and defeated Rochester Mayo 11-5 in a boys lacrosse game Monday at Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.
Max Foley stepped up to lead JM/Lourdes with three goals and seven assists. JM/Lourdes improved to 2-1, while Mayo’s record dipped to 1-2 with a tie.

"They kind of came together as a team, and they had to, because we had three starters out with injuries," JM/Lourdes coach Mike Madden said.
Will Wente, John Dube and Tim Bier all watched the game from the sidelines with various minor injuries. Madden thinks all three will play Friday against Century.
Also scoring for JM/Lourdes were Sean Griffin (three goals), Marcus Buehler (two goals, one assist), Taylor Giordano (two goals) and Reed Miller (one goal, two assists). goalkeeper Conner Nellans made 11 saves.
Joe Hagedorn led Mayo with two goals. Peter Park, Alex Heroff and Adam Palen all added single goals.
Grant Flick made four saves in three quarters in goal, and Mark Miller had three saves in goal in the fourth quarter.
Mayo returns to action Thursday at Mankato. JM/Lourdes plays Century Friday at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium.
