The third annual Ten Mile Breast Cancer Awareness Walk will be Sunday in Rochester.
Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. at Mayo High School and is followed by the opening ceremony at 8:45 a.m. The walk will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the closing ceremony at 1 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Join the Journey, a local nonprofit committed to the education and promotion of early detection of breast cancer. Join the Journey offers a variety of programs to help breast cancer patients and provides funding for the Mayo Clinic Cancer Education Center, Mayo Clinic Women’s Cancer Program and the American Cancer Society.
At least 500 walkers have signed up for the 10-mile walk, plus 100 breast cancer survivors.
