Thursday's musical festivities on the Peace Plaza stage begin at 5 p.m. when the Orange Mighty Trio launches the gilded sounds of chamber music and jazz into the air.
Their website, orangemightytrio.com, streams a significant chunk of the band's discography if you're looking to brush up on the material before catching it live.
Meanwhile, down the street, Twin Cities rapper Big Zach is putting his mic skills on display at the First Avenue stage. His Facebook page, facebook.com/BigZachMusic, conveys the rapper's whip-smart lyricism and golden ear for beats.
The First Avenue stage takes a turn for the funky at 7 p.m., when Rochester fan favorites Alex Rossi & Root City kick off a set of earth-shaking, hip-motivating soul-tinged indie rock. Rossi & Co. have been rocking Rochester crowds for the last few years, so its no surprise to see them included on this lineup. Expect high-caliber vocals and a charged-up dance-floor. Over on the Peace Plaza stage, The Barefoot Movement will play its Hendersonville, Tenn.-based traditional bluegrass and bluesy Americana starting at 7 p.m. Familiarize yourself with their songbook on their website, barefoot-movement.com.
