AUSTIN -- The funeral for Bruce Robert Andrews will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin.
Mr. Andrews, 85, of Austin, died Friday (Oct. 25, 2002).
He was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Blue Earth, Minn. He grew up on the farm and attended school in Blue Earth. On Oct. 1, 1938, he married Evelyn Irene Severtson in Sioux Falls, S.D. Mrs. Andrews died April 7, 2002. Mr. Andrews was employed by Hormel Foods Corp. and also ran the Bonded Gas Station in Austin. Later he worked for Lysne Construction. He belonged to St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working outdoors, playing Bingo, cars, and playing his harmonica,
Survivors include five daughters, Patricia Andrews, Sandy (John) Carroll, Bonnie (Dean) Britt, Cheryl (Jim) Epley and Sheila (Robert) Helmers, all of Austin; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Bernice Thorton of Minneapolis. Five infant children, five brothers and six sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday.
