Bulldog boys easily win eight-team track invitational

HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD

Jonny Weinrich helped run and jump Plainview-Elgin-Millville into familiar territory Tuesday, as it finished atop a large track and field invitational in Plainview.

Plainview, for years a track and field power, now is likely even stronger after having added Elgin-Millville to its school. Weinrich and the Bulldogs scored 182 points to win the eight-team meet. In second place was Stewartville with 96.5.

Weinrich landed first in the 200-meter dash (23.71) and the long jump (20-feet-2). P-E-M also got a big effort from its relay teams, winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 relays.

Dover-Eyota/St. Charles was the team champion in the seven-team P-E-M girls invitational. DESC scored 112 points, while P-E-M was second with 104.
