Cancer fund-raiser
What, when, where: Mayo vs. John Marshall boys and girls basketball double-header Tuesday at Mayo, the boys playing at 6:15 p.m., the girls at 8 p.m. In conjunction with that will be a cancer fund-raiser, with proceeds going to "Join the Journey."
Group’s mission: "Join the Journey" is a Rochester non-profit organization in its fifth year which promotes breast-cancer awareness and supports all newly-diagnosed breast-cancer patients in the Rochester area. It is run by volunteers Patty Allen, Effie Psimos and Margie Loprinzi. Allen and Psimos are both breast-cancer survivors.
