Carol B. Hanson -- Preston

PRESTON -- The funeral for Carol B. Hanson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, with the Rev. James Rushton officiating. There will be a private burial.

Mrs. Hanson, 79, of Preston, died Friday (Aug. 30, 2002) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Carol B. Sugla-Olson was born Dec. 2, 1922, in rural Rushford. She graduated from Rushford High School in 1940 and moved to Mabel for a short time. She then moved to Preston and owned the Jack Sprat Grocery Store. She later worked as a waitress in various places in Preston until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Women's Auxiliary and Preston Garden Club. She enjoyed growing violets and roses.

Survivors include two daughters, LoLetta (Jason) Potter of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Neena Ingvalson of Burnsville, Minn.; a son, Dean (Roxanne) Ingvalson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, P. Kenneth Olson of rural Rushford. Her husband, Hilman Hanson; four grandchildren; a sister; and a special friend preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston and at the church one hour before the service Tuesday.
