Rochester police arrested two men Saturday for allegedly breaking into cars in the Country Club Manor neighborhood.
According to Capt. Jim Pittenger, police responded to a report of car prowlers in the 3900 block of Third Place Northwest at 4:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old man who allegedly admitted that he and another man were breaking into cars and taking items.
Police searched the suspects' car, which was parked in the 3900 block of Third Street Northwest, and allegedly found a purse, checkbooks, sunglasses, a hammer, a baseball bat and other burglary tools, Pittenger said.
Before police left the scene about 6:30 a.m., a neighbor told officers he had spotted the second suspect. Police found the suspect and took him into custody.
Pittenger said police received reports from at least three victims.
