Threat closes third Chicago-area college; no details given

CHICAGO (AP) — A third college in the Chicago area has closed after receiving a violent threat.
Authorities say they searched a building on the campus of South Suburban College Tuesday but did not give any details.
The college says it will reopen Thursday. The school enrolls about 17,000 students about 20 miles outside of the city in South Holland.

St. Xavier University in Chicago is planning to reopen Wednesday after being closed several days because of threatening graffiti. Malcolm X College, a public school west of downtown, and Michigan’s Oakland University decided to resume classes Tuesday.
