State qualifiers: 3200 relay, with team members Challis Firl, Megan Wille, Emily Esch adn Lauren Bergstrom, with a second-place finish. Both Anoka and Century broke the 15-year-old record. Anoka finished first in 9:18.57 and Century was second in 9:19.09.
Strengths: Numbers, and the corps of the team which won the Big Nine return. All the members of the 3200 relay, which finished second at state, are also back. Depth is also a plus, with 97 athletes out for the team.
Outlook: Tough act to follow. Coach Kris Allen looks for the usual, solid performances from a group which includes Challis Firl, Megan Wille, Cheryl Wick, Emily Esch, Lauren Bergstrom, Jackie Fischer, Megan Mason, Kristin Kanz, Brittany Schwager and Sara Mueller.
