Kristen Faber and Laura Davis each hit run-scoring doubles in the first inning to spark Austin to a 12-0, five-inning Big Nine Conference softball victory at Century High School on Thursday.

Austin led 5-0 after one inning and 7-0 after two.

"We’re having some trouble getting out of the first inning," Century coach Tim Strain said. "We’re digging some holes that we have to try to dig our way out of … but we talked after the game about staying positive."

Davis was the winning pitcher, allowing just three hits in five innings.

Chelsey Nelson had a double for the Panthers.

Century plays host to Owatonna on Saturday in a doubleheader.
