Century stages ‘Beauty and the Beast’

Sixty-five Century High School students will act and sing their way through Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast," which begins its run at 7:30 p.m. today

There also will be shows Friday and Saturday and March 1-3. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m., except for a matinee show at 10:30 a.m. March 3. Doors open at 7 p.m.

About 120 students tried out for the 15 auditioned roles in the play.

Students also are building the sets, serving in technical roles and playing in the full orchestra that will accompany the actors.

Ticket prices range from $8 to $10 and seats are reserved. To buy tickets, stop in at the Panther Playhouse box office at Century, located at 2525 Viola Road N.E. Tickets also may be purchased online at or by calling 529-4878.
