Century storms past JM

While it was snowing outside, Rochester Century rained three-point baskets on intra-city rival John Marshall in a game Saturday night at JM.

The Panthers made 10 of 19 three-point attempts and went on to win 69-45.

Five different Century players made two treys each. Leading scorers were Tim Deedrick with 13, Ryan Freed with 12, Nate Johnson with 11 and Nate Burdick with nine.

For JM, Tyler Cain scored 15 despite missing a chunk of time in the first quarter after taking a blow to the face. Halil Dudakovic added eight and Matt Weiss and Eric Schaefer seven each for the Rockets, who were 2-for-9 on threes.

Century led 17-12, 39-24 and 51-34 at the quarter breaks.


The victory puts Century at 13-4 and in third place in the Big Nine Conference, 15-7 overall. JM is 4-12, 8-14.

JM plays its other city rival, Mayo, Tuesday at Mayo. Century is off until a home game Friday with Faribault.
