Z-M blanks Lourdes

Zumbrota-Mazeppa has had a string of strong volleyball teams in the last decade under coach Ron Miller. But Lourdes coach Bob Melton thinks this might be Z-M's best team, after the Cougars' 3-0 win Thursday night at Lourdes.

Z-M won 15-3, 15-3, 15-8 and improved to 8-2 overall, 2-0 in the HVL. Lourdes is 0-2 in the HVL, 2-6 overall.

"I just think that overall they pass well, they serve well and the have just really good floor coverage," Melton said. "They're relentless."

Melton was especially impressed with hitting of Z-M senior Monica McNamara, who had 14 kills.
