Five days made a big difference for the Rochester Century girls golf team, which notched its first win on Friday.
Century cruised to a 69-stroke win against Albert Lea at Northern Hills Golf Course, Rochester. Century scored 356, Albert Lea 425.
"That was about 45 shots better than Monday," said Century coach George Snyder. His team opened the season at the start of the week with a loss at Austin.
"Monday was windy, but I don't think that was the problem. We just hadn't been out to work on our short game yet," Snyder said.
Century junior Marissa Navarro was the medalist with an 87, including a 5-over-par 42 on the back nine.

Century plays Tuesday in the Rochester Invitational at the Rochester Golf &; Country Club, beginning at 2 p.m.
