Century wins easily over East

MANKATO -- Jake Erickson scored six points and Ben Sandvik scored five to lead Rochester Century to an easy 9-1 win over Mankato East in a Big Nine Conference boys hockey game Thursday.

Erickson scored four goals and two assists, including three goals in the first period as Century (13-5) built a 4-0 lead. Sandvik scored a hat trick and had two assists. Erickson and Sandvik are senior forwards on Century's first line.

"The boys played smart and hard, and they moved the puck really well," said Century coach Bruce Frutiger. "We really got good play from all four lines and that was good to see."

Century goalie Andy Oliver allowed only one goal and benefitted from good defense in front of him.
