MAZEPPA — The Rochester Century wrestling team finished seventh overall at Saturday’s nine-team Zumbrota-Mazeppa Invitational.
The Panthers scored 100 points. Z-M was the team champion with 166 points, and Kenyon-Wanamingo was second at 161.5. Kasson-Mantorville placed third with 125.5 points.
It was an individual format, though team scores were kept.
Century did not have a tournament champion, but three Panthers placed second. Chad Zastrow was the runner-up at 135 pounds, and Ben Ginther took second at 160. Senior Charlie Wolff had an outstanding tournament, placing second after a 3-1 loss to Class A No. 1-ranked Jake Schotanus of Southland.
"Charlie Wolff has been very impressive of late," Century coach Steve Larsen said. "Wolff faced No. 1-ranked Class A opponent, Jake Schotanus of Southland. In a previous meeting five weeks ago, Schotanus pinned Wolff. This time, the match was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, and Wolff had come close to earning a takedown. Although he lost 3-1 in overtime, Wolff showed that he could wrestle with the best in the state.

"The final round was tough, as we fell from fourth to seventh. But overall, this was good preparation for section wrestling."
Isaac Kuecker (145), Colt Jones (152) and Scott Shubert (171) all placed fourth for the Panthers.
The seeding meeting for the Section One, Class AAA team tournament is tonight. Section play begins Thursday evening.
Complete team and individual results from the Z-M Invitational are listed below.
CANNON FALLS DUALS
Rockets win three
John Marshall won three and lost one Saturday at the Cannon Falls duals.
It was not a tournament format, but rather a chance for teams to add duals to their schedule that were lost due to last week’s shutdown.

The Rockets defeated Trinity (53-9), Farmington (49-30) and Triton (48-20) and lost to Cannon Falls 37-33.
"Overall, I felt this was a postitive way to end our regular season," JM coach Brad Haugen said. "We went into the day without our regular 145/152-pounder, Mike Zenz, who was taking ACTs, and managed three solid victories and battled a very good Cannon Falls team right down to the wire."
Rockets senior Nate Redmann went 4-0 at 125 pounds. He picked up his 100th career win in the dual against Farmington.
Josh Waldee (189) and Andrew Peterson (285) also went 4-0 for the Rockets.
JM (16-7) opens section play Thursday night, likely at home. The seeding meeting is tonight.
Complete box scores from the Cannon Falls duals are listed below, though a box score from JM’s win over Trinity was not available.
