Century's Puhl sets record

Rochester Century's Ben Puhl set a course record Friday in the Red Wing cross country meet, winning the race in 15:54.

Puhl and his teammates gave Century a second-place team finish behind Henry Sibley.

In the girls race, Century's Challis Firl was third, also in15:54 and the Century team was third, behind powerful Dover-Eyota/St. Charles and Kingsland.

Century boys coach Darald Bothun said both the varsity and junior varsity teams improved their places from last year. The boys junior varsity won its event.

The girls junior varsity was second behind DESC.
