Charges filed in motorcycle accident

WINONA -- A Rochester man faces three charges in Winona District Court for allegedly causing a motorcycle accident in which his passenger was injured.

Alexander Clement, 22, of 2111 East River Road N.E., was charged July 19 with two counts of criminal vehicular injury and one count of failure to report a personal-injury accident.

The complaint alleges the Winona County Sheriff's Department got a call from a towing company about a motorcycle it had been sent to pick up. The call said there had been an accident.

When the department investigated, it found Clement was driving his motorcycle April 18 but he said he was alone at the time. However, a woman, said she was his passenger and that he was driving fast when the motorcycle's tire hit gravel and it slid down a hill. She suffered a broken nose and wrist in the accident.
