AUSTIN -- The funeral for Charlene F. Enerson will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle, with the Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating. Burial will be in Six Mile Grove Cemetery in Lyle.
Mrs. Enerson, 72, of Austin, formerly of Lyle, died Tuesday evening (April 16, 2002) at Austin Medical Center.
Charlene F. Huff was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Bristow, Iowa, moved to Lyle with her family as a child and graduated from Lyle High School. On June 1, 1947, she married Duane Enerson in Lyle. They farmed in the Rose Creek-Lyle area and Mrs. Enerson also was a cashier at a number of area grocery stores. From 1977 until retirement in 1985 they owned and operated White Pines Resort in Bemidji, Minn. They moved to Austin in 1997. She was a lifetime member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, was a member of the Lyle Auxiliary and Women of the Moose, and enjoyed bowling, reading and crafts.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sherry (Neal) Kenyon of Lyle and Kathy (Dale) Whalen of Rochester; a son, Kevin (Jolene) of Bemidji; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roger (Iona) Huff of Helena, Mont., Ward (Joan) Huff of Caledonia and Oscar (Carol) Huff of Austin. A brother and an infant sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
