SPRING VALLEY — The funeral for Charlotte Bertina Christopherson will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, with the Revs. Dennis Timmerman and Laura Fladten officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Christopherson, 104, of Spring Valley, died Friday (May 18, 2007) at Grand Meadow Healthcare Center, where she had lived for a year.
Charlotte Bertina Larson was born Dec. 25, 1902, in Concord Township, Iowa. She was baptized and later confirmed on Oct. 28, 1917. In 1920, the family moved to a farm near Ostrander. She married Arthur G. Christopherson on March 29, 1922, in Bloomfield Lutheran Parsonage in rural Ostrander. She was a homemaker all of her life, as well as a charter member of the ladies aid at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Payn of Washburn, Iowa, Helen (Jerry) Stier of Grand Meadow and Shirley (Norman) Bergman of Austin; three sons, Lester (Joanne) of Rochester and Roy (Janice) and Dennis, both of Spring Valley; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Osterhus of Spring Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, three grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
Friends may call an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
