DEER RIVER, Minn. -- A 2-year-old Slayton boy was killed after he was run over by a boat trailer his father was trying to back into Moose Lake, the sheriff said Sunday.
James Roy McNab died at Bemidji Hospital after being struck by the trailer Saturday morning, Itasca County Sheriff Pat Medure said.
The boy's father, Michael McNab, was maneuvering his vehicle to land a boat in the water at a public access when he ran over his son.
Moose Lake is about 50 miles north of Deer River in northeastern Minnesota.
