AUSTIN -- The funeral for Christine M. Schocker will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace American Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Harold Deye officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Schocker, 31, of Austin, an optician at Vision World in Oak Park Mall, died Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003) at her home following an 18-month illness with cancer.
Christine M. Gilbertson was born Jan. 21, 1972. On May 31, 1996, she married Donald D. Schocker Jr. in Jamaica.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Joshua of Austin; a daughter, McKenzie of Austin; her mother, Madelyn (Smith) Gilbertson of Austin; her father and stepmother, Walter and Sherry Gilbertson of Austin; four sisters, Renee Gilbertson (Mike Halzapfel) of Mankato, Minn., Cheryl (Mike) Nelson of Glenville, Minn., Sherry A. Gilbertson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Lori (Korey) Kamholz of Owatonna; and seven brothers, Walter (Carol) Gilbertson and Mark (Lori) Gilbertson, both of Dallas, Wayne Gilbertson of Fayetteville, Ark., Craig Gilbertson of Tampa, Fla., Ronald Gilbertson of Paradise, Calif., and Jim Johnson and Jerry Johnson, both of Austin. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
