A cigarette ignited a stack of firewood Sunday night at a home in the 3600 block of 37th Street Southeast in Rochester.
The Rochester Fire Department said the home's occupant, Eric Thompson, saw the fire about 11 p.m. and used a garden hose to control it until firefighters arrived. Firefighters used foam to extinguish the fire.
The fire damaged the firewood and a dog house. There was no damage to the home.
