AUSTIN -- The funeral for Clara Bertina Sauer will be at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Roberta Flood officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Sauer, 91, of Austin, died Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2003) at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.
Clara Bertina Moen was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Dodge County. On Aug. 22, 1945, she married Albert Sauer of Brigham City, Utah, and they made their home in Austin. In later years Mrs. Sauer worked at the Kingswood Hotel. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Eagles. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Thomas) Walsh of Red Wing and Janet Pettry of San Antonio; a son, John (Becky) of Austin; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur (Sylvia) Moen of Austin; and two sisters, Irene (Leslie) Johnson of Janesville, Minn., and Mathilda Jerdet of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
