Clara Curran -- Austin

AUSTIN -- A memorial service for Clara Curran will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.

Mrs. Curran, 89, of Austin, died Friday (Dec. 6, 2002) at the home.

Clara Nygard was born April 7, 1913, near Dundas. She grew up in the state orphanage in Owatonna, Minn., and later lived and worked for a family in St. Paul. On May 4, 1942, she married Frank Curran. Mrs. Curran worked at Bethesda Hospital and lived in St. Paul until Mr. Curran's death in the early 1970s. She then moved to Austin, and in 1996 moved to St. Mark's. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, birds and animals.

Survivors include nieces and nephews. Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
