Clara J. Komis -- Kenyon

KENYON -- The funeral for Clara J. Komis will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cannon City Community Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Gary Wunderlich officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery.

Mrs. Komis, 87, of Kenyon, died Friday (Oct. 4, 2002) at Kenyon Sunset Home.

Clara Josephine Thoreson was born April 9, 1915, on the family farm near Dennison. She was raised and schooled in the area before moving with her sister to Seattle, where she worked for Boeing. She married Reinhart Komis on Sept. 8, 1950, in Vang Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Cannon Falls, Kenyon and Faribault areas. He died Dec. 1, 1972. She was a member of Cannon City Community Church and enjoyed needlepoint, baking and camping.

Surviving are two sons, Michael (Sandy M.) of Dundas and Tom (Sandy K.) of Faribault; a daughter, Debbie Komis of Winona; four grandchildren; and a sister, Randi Thoreson of Kenyon. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hanson Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church one hour before the service.
