AUSTIN — A celebration of life for Clara J. Noble will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Kristi Koppel officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.

Mrs. Noble, 90, of Austin, died Tuesday (Nov. 11, 2008) at Sacred Heart Care Center.

Clara Josephine Srp was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Oakland, and attended Austin High School. She married Wilfred McCauley, and they were later divorced. On Oct. 10, 1946, she married Ralph Noble in Austin. The couple had made their home in Austin for more than 62 years. They lived on the farm for many years before moving to the Cedars, and later to Sacred Heart Care Center. They sold the farm homesite to their grandson, Jason, whom they helped rear. Mrs. Noble enjoyed assisting her husband in running the family farm, cooking, baking, working in her garden and growing flowers, spending time with her family and the yearly family gatherings.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Sr. Donna McPhail of Riceville, Iowa, Sandra (Dennis) Berhow of Stewartville, Marie (Darrell) King and Carol Schlichter (Virgil Waltz), both of Austin; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Josephine (Pliml) Srp; three brothers, Frank, Chuck and Joe Srp; two sisters, Marion Ginder and Luella Olson; and a grandson, Daryl McPhail.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, and a half-hour before the service Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Care Center.
