VFW Post 1216 won the state poppy award at the recent convention.
The display will represent Minnesota at the VFW's national convention competition this summer in Salt Lake City. The display includes more than 5,300 poppies.
The VFW will use the display in its sponsorship of an education television program, "Dragon Tales," in Austin.
Country Club bridge
The Austin Country Club Bridge group met for lunch Wednesday. Winners were Betty Sperry, Betty Hart and Sue Mann.
