DES MOINES, Iowa — The Rochester Community and Technical College baseball team surrendered 23 runs and lost both games of a doubleheader Wednesday at Des Moines Area Community College.
DMACC scored nine runs in the fifth inning and beat Rochester 13-2 in six innings in the first game. DMACC also won the second game, 10-4.
The two defeats dropped Rochester’s record to 2-11.
DMACC out-hit Rochester 12-9 in the first game. For the Yellowjackets, Kyle Strand was 2-for-3 with one RBI; Dylan Berg was 2-for-4 with a double; Wade Yunker was 2-for-3 with one run; and Tyler Smith was 2-for-3.

Lee Dolan pitched the first 5 2/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 5 earned runs for the loss. Noah Grove pitched the last 2 1/3 innings and gave up 8 runs on 6 hits.
In the second game, Nick Carroll went 2-for-3 to pace Rochester’s offense. Losing pitcher Brady Mosenden allowed 9 hits and 6 runs in 2 1/3 innings; Chase Olson was tagged for 3 earned runs and 5 hits in 3 2/3 innings of relief.
Rochester has a pair of home doubleheaders on its own field Saturday against Vermillion and Sunday against Hibbing, but those games might have to be postponed if the college’s field isn’t dry enough.
