Constance M. Birmingham — Zumbrota

ZUMBROTA — A memorial service for Constance M. Birmingham will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota, with the Rev. Susan Vikstrom officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Zumbrota.

Mrs. Birmingham, 85, of Zumbrota, died Sunday (April 6, 2008) at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Constance Mae Naeseth was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Warren, Minn. At age 1, she moved to Holden Township, Goodhue County, with her family. She attended country schools and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1941. On Dec. 5, 1948, she married Henry LeRoy Birmingham in Spring Valley. They lived in Zumbrota, where Mrs. Birmingham candled eggs for Henning Produce and worked as a waitress at Westside Cafe. She was also a Scout leader and a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.

Survivors include two sons, Gary of Remer, Minn., and Darel (Becky) of Zumbrota; a daughter, Sharon A. Birmingham (Nicolino Berardi) of Zumbrota; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, on Feb. 9, 1979, and a sister, Lois.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
