CORRECTION It was incorrectly reported on Page 1C Jan. 18 that John Ripstra exclusively cared for his daughter for two years. He did care for her for three weeks. He and his former wife, Karen Johns, have had joint custody since November 1998.

A quote by Olmsted District Court Judge Kevin Lund appeared incorrectly in a story on Page 1A Monday about the Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast in Rochester. Lund was referring to the contributions made by Joe Rockenbach, the Verne Manning family and other Rochester residents when he made the statement, "They truly represent our better self."

A story and headline on Page 2B Jan. 17 incorrectly implied that Lansing Landfill Inc. was fined $10,000 for accepting materials containing asbestos. In December 2000, the company was fined $2,500 by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency after unacceptable construction waste, some of which contained asbestos, was being sorted at the landfill. In December 2001, the company was fined $7,500 for not creating a designated sorting area for unacceptable materials on time; the corrective measures have since been implemented.
