WANAMINGO — A couple from Hastings, Minn., were killed Friday when the vehicle they were in was broadsided at Minnesota highways 57 and 60 in Wanamingo.
Lesley E. and Dolores E. Nelson, both 76, were dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 5 p.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Nelsons were traveling southbound on Highway 57, did not yield at a stop sign at the intersection with Minnesota 60 and were broadsided by a westbound pickup driven by Jeffrey S. Pitzer, 43, of Wanamingo, according to the state patrol. Pitzer was not injured.
