The Rochester Police Department is asking for the public's help after an explosion that originated in a tree caused damaged to the tree and broke windows in neighboring homes.
Rochester police were sent to the 900 block of Ninth Street Southeast around 2:30 a.m. Monday for a report of an explosion.
An initial investigation found that someone placed an object in a tree that exploded, police said in a news release. The explosion caused minor damage to the tree and broke windows on two homes in the area.
The Rochester Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the incident.
