A 34-year-old Dover woman was arrested for felony vehicular operation resulting in substantial bodily harm following an ATV accident Saturday night, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. She also is being charged with a fourth-degree DWI misdemeanor.
At 6 p.m. Saturday, the woman, Amanda Bedtke, was driving the ATV with a 41-year-old Rochester man. In the 1000 block of Eighth Street Southeast in Dover, they attempted to do a "doughnut" on a gravel road, at which point the ATV tipped on its side. The man put his hand out to brace the fall, which resulted in a compound fracture. The sheriff's office reported that the man will need surgery to repair the break.
Bedtke allegedly walked away from the scene, but was found about two hours later at a residence in the 1600 block of 195th Avenue Southeast in Dover Township. She was reportedly still under the influence when law enforcement located her. Law enforcement took her to the hospital since she was also involved with the crash. Her blood alcohol tests were not back as of Monday morning.
