STEWARTVILLE — Two people were arrested at a Rochester motel Wednesday afternoon in connection with a robbery and stabbing at Pure Pleasure just north of Stewartville.
Caleb Siler, 29, of Rochester, and Anna Siegele, 31, of Rochester, were arrested at 4:25 p.m. in a motel room at 1625 S. Broadway, said Capt. Scott Behrns, of the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. An officer on routine patrol had spotted the suspects’ vehicle parked at the motel.
During the arrest, Siler ingested an unknown controlled substance and has been hospitalized, Behrns said.
When he is released from the hospital, Siler will be charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, third-degree assault and aggravated robbery, all felonies. Siegele will face charges of aiding an offender.
In addition, there were apprehension orders out on both Siler and Siegele, who had been on probation.
The 52-year-old stabbing victim from the store was treated for a leg wound and released. He had tried to stop a male customer, allegedly Siler, from leaving the store with a bottle of sample cologne at about 7 a.m. Wednesday. The stabbing took place in the parking lot.
The suspects in the case were identified from surveillance video, Behrns said. After Siler ran from the store, he allegedly stole a vehicle from a nearby construction site and drove to a Stewartville convenience store, where he was also captured on surveillance video. The stolen vehicle was later recovered on Wood Lake Drive Southeast in Rochester, Behrns said.
